Fibonacci Calculator — Retracements and Extensions of Any Move
Type a swing high and low and get the retracement and extension levels the Fibonacci method uses, the same ratios CoreNova's Fibonacci tool draws, with each level's distance from a price you enter. It works in your browser; nothing is sent.
Frequently asked
How are the retracement levels worked out?
From the move's end back toward its start by the method's fractions of the move: 0.236, 0.382, 0.5, 0.618 and 0.786, with 0 at the end and 1 at the start. For a move up from 100 to 120, the 0.618 retracement is 120 minus 0.618 times 20, which is 107.64.
How are the extension levels worked out?
Past the move's end, from its start: 1.272, 1.414, 1.618, 2.0 and 2.618 times the move. For the same move, the 1.618 extension is 100 plus 1.618 times 20, which is 132.36. These are the levels CoreNova's Fibonacci tool draws.
Up move or down move?
Pick up when the low came first and the high after it; down when the high came first. The direction decides which end the retracements are measured back from and which way the extensions point.
Do prices respect these levels?
The ratios are a convention traders watch. Nothing on this page measured how often price stops at them, and none of them is a measured support or resistance.
How does this differ from the Fibonacci tool?
Here you choose the swing. The Fibonacci tool picks it by a stated rule (the highest high and lowest low of the timeframe's window, both dated), then adds where the price sits in the move, what bars did at each level and a plan.
